Hannah Massey is interested in the stories and the histories of culture and the way that we refer to them to find meaning and understanding of our world and of the human experience. This includes mythology, religion and other cultural narratives, and of particular interest are those that have persisted through time.

As a mixed media artist she has explored drawing, painting, photography, collage and more recently ceramics and finds that the treasures lie in the places where these mediums intersect.

Her work revolves around images of the human form; reminiscent of statues, frescos, murals and icons. Societies throughout the ages have portrayed their stories and their gods in their own image, the perfect vehicle to reflect the continual journey of self-understanding.
